Blog of the Week - Nos. 20 and 21
By JLP | February 19, 2006
I was so busy last week that I forgot to post about the Blog of the Week. Last week’s Blog of the Week (No. 20)was Kirby on Finance, which is a pretty nice blog. Hopefully you had a chance to check it out. I will add his site to my Personal Finance Blog Links page.
This week’s Blog of the Week No. 21 goes to FearlessMoney, which I think is a thoughtful blog. In his about section, he says this:
I’m a guy who used to always ignore his finances. I was afraid, but I’m not anymore. My new perspective is very simple, debt is bad, saving is good, and fortune favors the well-prepared.
I don’t necessarily agree that debt is bad but for the most part I understand where he’s coming from. Anyway, it is a nice blog and one that I’m sure you will like checking out. When you go, be sure and tell him that JLP at AllThingsFinancial sent you.

As someone who’s been stung by money, I understand the “debt is bad” attitude. Most consumer debt is “bad debt” - in other words it finances something that’s going down in value. I’m really working hard to eliminate that kind of debt now.

Kirby on Finance is a good blog, nice simple design.
Whether debt is bad depends on people’s awareness and the realisation they will have to pay the money back some day.

I’m constantly afraid of my debt, and I fully appreciate that bad debt is bad debt. Unfortunately, my bad debt means I now struggle to get myself into good debt.
Oh well. One day, maybe.
